Members of the Rada community in Trinidad can trace their roots back to the Kingdom of Dahomey (modern day Benin). Their ancestors came to Trinidad in the 1850s after Emancipation. Every year, in January and September, the Antoine family keep Rada traditions alive when they gather for vodonus in their family compound in Belmont.
